Soroptimist means “best for women” and that’s what we strive to be—an organization of women at their best helping other women to be their best. As a volunteer organization of business and professional women we feel uniquely qualified to help women and girls live their dreams.

Throughout history and still to this day, women throughout the world face obstacles solely because of their gender. They disproportionately suffer from poverty and discrimination. It’s for this reason that Soroptimist, an organization of and by women, chooses to focus on the special challenges facing women and girls.

Chartered July 1981, Soroptimist International of the Conejo is a volunteer service organization consisting of local Conejo Valley business and professional women of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups.  Members of Soroptimist International of the Conejo support both the international and local community projects by providing financial assistance and hands-on time and talent.  The mission of Soroptimist is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

We provide a Live Your Dream Award, a cash grant, which focuses on women who are improving their lives by attending school with plans to re-enter the work force after overcoming adversity in their lives.  We also support many local charities with programs that fit with our mission, including, but not limited to, Journey Out, Safe Harbor, Interface Safe Haven, Hospice of the Conejo, Many Mansions, RAIN Project Transitional Living Center, Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank and many more.   We are an international non-profit organization.  One hundred percent of the proceeds raised at our fundraising events are donated to local community charities and international support.
